[edit]The article previously stated businesses "generally are not charged GST upfront, or, if they are," and "Similarly, services, such as repairs by plumbers or mechanics include GST on their bill to the consumer, but buy the parts ex-GST."
As far as I know, that's quite incorrect. Businesses (and other GST Registered entities) always pay the GST component, but they're able to claim it back. I'm 99% sure about this, but I thought I'd leave a comment in case I'm wrong. I recall a tax lecturer explicitly stating that the IRD will deem whatever amount of money that changed hands to be GST-Inclusive. Tenbaset 02:02, May 27, 2005 (UTC)

incorrect government referred to regarding GST increase to 12.5%
