Talk:John Paul II

We should, I suppose, call this "Pope John Paul II", because other popes' names might overlap some European royalty, no? In general, what do we do about names of royalty? Perhaps we should put that discussion on naming conventions or a page connected to naming conventions... --LMS

How about "John Paul II (pope)"?

Pros:

  1. The article's name feels more natural (to me) that way.
  2. The article appears in the right place in an alphabetical list.

Cons:

  1. As LMS suggests that disambiguating parentheses be used for broad categories (eg, "icon (religion)" instead of "icon (religious symbolism)"), is "pope" broad enough? I think so, since "is probably going to be useful in disambiguating many other titles" (like "actress" or "painter").

Yes, I know parentheses in free links do not work yet. I am for waiting (how long is it going to take?) and then redirecting this article and others as well.
