Proposed merge of Board book into Children's literature

The result of this discussion was not to split based on my understanding of WP:SIZERULE, which wasn't contested by any other editor. Dan Bloch (talk) 19:49, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

At more than 150kB, this article is too long, according to WP:SIZERULE, and should be split. I'd suggest lifting out the "Literary Criticism" section to make a new article, while writing a brief summary with a "Main" hatnote for here. Suggested title of the new article: Social issues in children's literature.

Other possible new articles would be on British children's literature and American children's literature, both overrepresented in this article's National traditions section. --- Robina Fox (talk) 21:30, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you're interested in making an article on American children's literature, you could consider, for a start, translating this article from the German Wikipedia: Amerikanische Kinder- und Jugendliteratur. Why No Edith Nesbit?

Now, of course I realize that there are thousands, and even MILLIONS, of works of children's literature Out There, and that it would be quite impossible to list them all. But, even so -- and having said that -- how on Earth do you have an article on Children's Literature, and never mention the name of Edith Nesbit so much as ONCE??? Requirement of clarification to revise my contribution

@Danbloch Could you please clarify what appears as a copyright issue in my contribution concerning the topic of "the translation of children's literature"? I had added citations to the information I submitted. I would appreaciate if you could explain how I could have avoided the issue, then, I would gladly revise my contribution. The added text appears to have been copy-pasted from its source. This violates copyright, even when citations are given. From WP:COPYPASTE, which discusses this in detail: "With the exceptions of short quotations from copyright text, and text copied from a free source without a copyright, text from other sources may not be copied into Wikipedia." @Danbloch I am grateful for your feedback. Although I have double-checked my contribution in terms of direct copying through softwares and been declared to have found no such case, I am most definitely considering these efforts to have produced a better contribution for the benefit of those interested in the topic of translation of children's literature. As I have mentioned, I have closely revised my contribution in terms of any copying issue and am currently submit it to reconsideration under the same title.
