Liftedly Man?
[edit]24.215.185.52 brought up the point (by vandalising the article) that Liftedly Man is not a Phish song. I looked at all of their listings at Amazon and didn't see any song by this name. However, Lif mentions in an interview at http://www.ink19.com/issues/october2002/interviews/mrLif.htm that he got his name from this song and that it was by Phish. Can anyone shed any light on this. Is it a song that they only performed but never recorded? Could Lif be talking about another band? TimMony 18:36, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
There is definitely not a Phish song called "Liftedly Man." Perhaps he misheard some lyrics or heard them correctly but doesn't know the name of the song?
- "Prog-hop"?? ummm... can we not? W guice 11:43, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Perhaps they performed it at a concert and Trey Anastasio played with the lyrics and turned Lifeboy into Lifetyman. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.172.169.7 (talk • contribs) 25 April 2006

I haven't seen any articles where he says the Phish songs name is Liftedly or whatever, but I did read one where he says he created the character based on a Phish bass-line.. not that the Phish song was titled The Liftedly Man http://www.exclaim.ca/musicreviews/beatsandrhymes.aspx?csid1=81 GURT 19:55, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
From Mr. Lif's "Arise": "Since I was sent under the name of Lif, which means to uplift". There you go. Ideogon (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 04:26, 2 February 2009 (UTC).
