Richard "Rich" Costey is an American music producer, mixer, and engineer known for his innovative and boundary-pushing approach to music production. He has worked with a diverse range of musicians across various genres including rock, indie, pop, hip-hop, and electronica.[1]

He has received critical acclaim and multiple Grammys for his outstanding contributions to the music industry. Some notable collaborators include Fiona Apple, Vampire Weekend, Foo Fighters, Sigur Rós, Muse,[2] Foster the People, Swirlies, Sam Fender, and My Chemical Romance. He has occasionally worked as a DJ and musician on the albums as well.[3] He is managed by René Symonds at Tap Mgmt[4]

Costey operates out of a residential studio on a sprawling 400-acre estate in southern Vermont[5] providing artists with a unique recording environment. He regularly works from studios in both Los Angeles and London, where he typically spends several months of the year.
