Minor nit
[edit]Why is Wikipedia: Vanity page under "W"? Should be under "V", correct? (Yes, I'm relatively new, and don't know how to change it myself, if category pages can be changed by non-admins.)--Canuckguy 17:24, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
- Seems that article has been renamed & re-categorized. Libcub (talk) 06:09, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
How to rally support?
[edit]In the multiposting guideline it says:
"I rally you, my fellow hamster-lovers! Come and support me in my proposal to give all hamsters the same rights as men at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)#Hamsters. Please limit discussion to that page, however."
as an example of how to rally support for a particular idea. Yet, I see editors/administrators criticizing others for rallying support by posting notices to other editors' talk pages.
Does the guideline mean that it is 'ok' to rally support by posting notices to article/category talk pages, but the practice (not policy or guideline have I found) is that it is not ok to rally support by posting notices to users' talk pages and you will be urgently attacked if you do so. Funny thing
[edit]It seems strange that Talk:Muhammad's slaves sat here on the list of pages in the Wikipedia Guidelines category for some nine months and no one did anything about it. (Someone added WP:AGF with double braces instead of double square brackets to that article back in March.) —Largo Plazo (talk) 13:42, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Sorting
[edit]"Wikipedia" is sorting under "WikiProject", and "Avoid" appears under W. —Largo Plazo (talk) 13:46, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Perhaps unfortunately, in the default sort, capital letters sort before lowercase letters. I have asked for a sort key option in the Template:Guideline. I don't see any "Avoids" on the page; did you see that on a different page? Libcub (talk) 05:19, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Main category missing?
[edit]This article starts with a big tag, calling attention to Category:Wikipedia official policy. Which redlinks!
I'm really new here, and don't know where it should link, but I'd like to know...Tøpholm (talk) 21:15, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
- Was quickly fixed by Good Ol’factory. Not sure if I should just delete this section now...Tøpholm (talk) 01:28, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
