I really appreciate what Wiki has done. It's a wonderful approach to keep information up to date and in the hands of the modernists. It prevent knowledge stagnation while encouraging personal responsibility for sharing perspectives. It's a great tool and I plan on continuing to support it.
My stuff
[edit]I'm an artist, although I'd prefer calling myself an "expressionist" because the word "artist" usually invokes concepts of people who focus in one type of art like sculpting but not dancing, or singing but not writing. I just like creating expressions in whatever medium I have available. For me it all comes down to pattern recogniction, deconstruction, & reinvention.
Here's my site: http://TheCreativeRoy.com
I know, "expressionist" makes the self-description of artist seem modest, especially considering the way I employ it in this situation, but I don't see a better single-word description out there. **shrugs**
Duemellon's Dictionary
[edit]Sometimes I write in shorthand or refer to words I've completely fabricated. Hopefully I'll remember to include them here with the expectation that they will be so clear and usefull that they will catch one with the rest of humanity as useful concepts in the evolving language (don't worry, I'm really just being silly hoping it will catch on)
Alony (ah-lonn-EE) n.: An egregiously flawed analogy ex.: Your hair is so greasy it's like a stack of paper.
&/r (and/or) conj.: Either element is included, or both may be included (in a binary situation); Any combination elements preceding may be included in what is being referred to
Vox (Voice/Voices or Vocal/Vocals)
Mux (Music/Musician)
Escora (ess-SCORE-ah) n.: A substitute for something else which is intended to be a precise fit, replication, but is indeed different in nature or composition. This is usually used in sentence to denote it is unattainable. Such as replacing apples with oranges may seem to be a precise replacement because they're fruit, however, they are fundamentally different which prevents it from being that way.
Complex contractions
Wouldn't've - Would not have.
For the complex/compound contraction to work the initial word must be able to support each additional contraction independently. ie: You can have "wouldn't" & "would've" so therefore "wouldn't've" is valid.
Pollitution (polee-TOO-shun) n.: All the campaign signs, banners, flyers, & other signs & displays that pop up during an election campaign throughout neighborhoods, billboards, or public broadcasts.
Commodtion (com-MODE-shun) n.: The groans, bangs, plops, grunts, banging, & other disturbing noises that are byproducts of having a particularly eventful bowel movement.
Abrahamic Relgions: Those religions that shared the same text Christians refer to as the Old Testament up to the point of Abraham. Namely Christianity, Judaism, & Islam. This term is in response to the phrase "Judeo-Christian" to describe the closeness of their relationship, implying some hieghtened degree of commonality but excluded the commonality they both have with Islam.
