Is this just people playing 'traditional' irish music, or music clearly inspired by folk music?
If we take celtic to mean artists from areas that spoke or speak a celtic language then this list should include all artists from: scotland, wales, cornwall, ireland, northern ireland and brittany. However I don't think you have Tom Jones, U2 or Westlife in mind. Secretlondon 12:40, Nov 2, 2003 (UTC)
I would think that this list should be limited to those artists whose major body of work is traditional or is clearly influenced by traditional Celtic music sources. Celtic in this context would imply England, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man, Brittany, and Gallacia. I say main body of work because some artists "cross over" once in a while. Just because you've recorded with the Chieftains, doesn't make you "Celtic". Given that, I think that Sinead O'Conors presence on this list is problematic. David Stapleton 02:09, Nov 20, 2003 (UTC)
Planxty (Ireland) should be here, as well as Boys of the Lough (Scottish/Ulster). We should at least have a token Welsh presence - how about Ar Log? The comments above seem sensible, but I am struggling to think of any English band whose body of output is mainly Celtic.
