Merge
[edit]I agree that the two articles should be merged. --Supernumerary 05:03, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- I agree - keep this page and delete the other version. How did we end up with two separate entries anyway?! --Thoughtcat 07:53, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Before the naming conventions were standardised, there was a split over whether film or movie should be used to disambiguate. I've run across one other situation like this.--Supernumerary 23:26, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
I went ahead and did the merger. I blended the two plot sections together and added in the reception section. Everything else from Truly Madly Deeply (movie) was scrapped.--Supernumerary 01:25, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Good stuff. The correct title though (according to the IMDb entry to which this article links) is "Truly Madly Deeply" (i.e. without the commas). At the moment though if you search for the title without the commas you go straight to the song. Should this be clarified (with a redirect)? --Thoughtcat 13:10, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
DVD unavailable?
[edit]It seems as if the DVD has little or no availability (also not on Netflix, as a DVD or streamed). I've Googled for a reason, but have found none. Any ideas that could lead to this info being addable to the article? -- Dan Griscom (talk) 03:12, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
- I asked in a high street shop and apparently dvds haven't been available in shops in the UK since 2008. The advisor I spoke to said the licence has probably been withdrawn /expired / not re-negotiated. Span (talk) 11:32, 15 December 2013 (UTC)
- I was able to buy a new Region 1 DVD from a well known online retailer in January, 2023. Frank Lynch (talk) 12:02, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
Release
[edit]@MarnetteD: I think you are aware of Wikipedia:Verifiability. Your claim that this film is shown in tv first is in fact wrong and there IS a source to prove this - have a look at the entry of the official site of British Film Institute http://collections-search.bfi.org.uk/web/Details/ChoiceFilmWorks/150360639 . So don't insist for this wrong edit anymore. -- MovieFex (talk) 18:39, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
- I think you are aware that BBC TV productions often get a one time tgheastrical showing - Just see all the Dr Who episodes. Does that mean we change them to film categories? MarnetteD|Talk 19:05, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
- You do know that the link you provided does not indicate whether it was in a theatre or TV on August 16th and that the date comes months after the other two dates in the infobox. MarnetteD|Talk 19:07, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
- August is later than May, isn't it? So your claim "It aired on TV before it was shown in theaters" is wrong. Theatrical release in USA was 1991-05-03 and in UK 1991-08-16. And if you have a look at the BFI website click on "Release/TV" (link on the left side) there you can see it aired 1992-03-01 in tv. So it is absolutely clear. -- MovieFex (talk) 19:19, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
