The statement in the article that BBC no longer uses the format is incorrect. I found it in use on some BBC german streams on 4/17/12. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.62.146.171 (talk) 15:42, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
Spyware?
[edit]This codec is accompanied by spyware, that allows ads to pop-up on the user's computer.
Have deleted this sentence; will gladly put it back in on receipt of some proof/confirmation. --Palapala 07:46, 2004 Jul 8 (UTC)
I've removed the Spyware section. The references therein were with regards to RealPlayer, and any such criticism would belong in that article, not this one. Preppy 06:10, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

- No, it's just a crippled audio format/player that should soon be obsolete. —Down10 T / C 06:24, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
It is odd that there is nothing on the page about the reputation of this product. It comes across more as a press release.
- This page describes the audio format. The RealPlayer article discusses the product and the criticism it has received. I see no reason to duplicate that information here, and this article does mention the controversy and some of the alternatives available to those who do not want to use RealPlayer. -- Mcoder 17:57, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Why do so many broadcasters use it for streaming
[edit]Why do so many broadcasters use Realaudio for streaming their services on the internet when there are other (IMNSHO) far better codecs out there which arent tied into proprietry playback software ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.229.222.48 (talk) 18:04, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
