W. E. Gladstone (1898) -> The Story of Gladstone's Life (1897) ?

I have a book in front of me, published in 1897, entitled "The Story of Gladstone's Life," which seems pretty comprehensive at ~430 pages. I don't think McCarthy would have written two biographies in the space of as many years. Is this the book that is meant by "W. E. Gladstone" ?

McCalmont's Parliamentary Poll Book (1971) (page 186) shows him as a Home Ruler - no reference to 'Liberal'
